School Prevention Programs
If you thought weather made scheduling difficult in December, just wait until January. With holidays and snow days and 2-hour delays we were in and out all month long!
Ongoing Programs in January
- Too Good for Drugs and Violence in K through 9th grades
- CATCH my Breath in 7th
- Small Group
New Programs in January
- Safe Dates in 8th grade is an evidenced based curriculum designed to address dating violence. Through 10 lessons we aim to change the attitudes and behaviors that are often predictors of dating abuse. The curriculum helps teens understand consent, challenge norms around dating and technology, and recognize the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships.
Completed
- SAFE-T in last 7th grade class.
SADD Club
SADD Club decided to focus on two projects in February, so we began brainstorming this month. They're focusing on Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and Random Acts of Kindness Week. We're looking forward to seeing what the students come up with!
Independent Living
We had two IL meetings this month focused on credit cards and social skills.
